Annual Notice of your Financial Privacy Rights
Nonpublic personal financial information means information about you that we collect in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. It does not include information that is available from public sources such as telephone books or government records. WEA Credit Union collects nonpublic personal information about you from the following sources:
• Information we receive from you on applications or other forms
• Information about your transactions with us
• Information about your transactions with third parties
• Information from a consumer reporting agency.
We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information to provide products or services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information.
We do not disclose nonpublic personal information about members or former members to nonaffiliated third parties, except as permitted by law.
In the future, we may disclose information to other financial service providers in order to provide our members with information about additional products and services. If you do not want us to share your nonpublic personal information with nonaffiliated third parties, you can block the release of certain nonpublic personal information. This is your right to “opt-out.” You may opt-out by calling our office at 1-800-457-1142. If you have filed an opt-out notice in the past, you do not need to do it again.
Safe, Secure and Private
The Wisconsin Department of Fiancial Institutions, Office of Credit Unions, conducts an annual examination of credit union records and procedures, An annual inernal audit is conducted by a qualified certified public account. All officers, directors and employees are bonded as required by Wisconsin law. WEA Credit Union protects the non-public personal information of its members as required by the Privacy Act.
